The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has implemented Rules 114F to 114H under the Income-tax Rules, 1962, mandating financial institutions in India to collect additional personal, tax, and beneficial ownership details along with necessary certifications and documentation. This information may be reported to tax authorities or designated agencies as required. To ensure compliance, we may need to share relevant details with institutions such as withholding agents to facilitate proper withholding on transactions.
